Contaminated water & sanitation causes 80% of sickness & disease worldwide

The price paid by poor communities with no access to safe water is huge. Wasted income, lost time and ill-health all have a devastating impact on families. Children in particular suffer, with water- borne diseases being one of the biggest killers of children worldwide.
Tackling the shortages of clean water around the Ummah remains a big challenge. Providing water is a very good way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap Allah’s blessings for as long as the well supplies water.

Due to advances in technology, SPOT Project no longer build water well but has instead invested in progressive initiatives such as boreholes. A borehole is a solar powered mechanism which involves drilling deep into the ground to access clean water. The water is then powered up and a tap system is created. The advantages of a borehole make it more sustainable, easily maintained & accessible to all.

A Borehole consists of:

Solar/Electric Pump
Solar Panel
Water Tap
Large Water Tank and Stand
Personalised Plaque (with your name)

It is important for public health that available water – whether it is used for drinking, domestic use or food production – is safe. It has been proven that improved water supply and sanitation can boost countries economic growth and result in poverty reduction. Every person has the right to safe, continuous and physically accessible water for personal and domestic use.

Installing a borehole system consists of the following:

  • Solar/electric pump
  • Solar panel
  • 2x water taps
  • Large water tank & stand
  • Personalised plaque with your name (or memory of loved one)
  • Information pack of where the borehole is located with images
  • Video footage of borehole and beneficiaries
  • Certificate
